Berkeley Addiction Treatment Services, Inc.

For both detox and maintenance clients, at least a one year history of opiate dependence and prior attempts at treatment must be documented to qualify for admission to BATS.

Patient-specific exceptions, such as pregnancy or imminent health risk, may make eligibility less stringent, though solely at the discretion of the BATS medical staff.

Applicants complete a detailed medical-social-psych questionnaire during the admission process and receive a comprehensive medical evaluation. TB screening is required. Counseling is offered for other common infectious diseases at this time. Patients may be referred for any additional testing (EKG, stabilizing chronic conditions, etc.).

Although initial dosage of methadone is determined on a case-by-case basis,  BATS adheres to Federal and State guidelines and the community standard of care.
